Portrait Sessions

Your portrait photo session, which is a casual and fun event, will take place at an outdoor location of your choice - a local park, the beach, or your own backyard. My studio is available for maternity and newborn portraits or for rainy days, but generally, for children's and family portraits, I prefer to use our beautiful natural California light. I have a few favorite locations I can suggest as well. An on-location session lasts about two hours and can include clothing changes, if you'd like.

A pre-session design consultation is important. If possible, meeting in person is great. If that's not possible, a detailed phone conversation would be fine too. I like to discuss just what you're looking for in a portrait, what the investement means to you and what sorts and sizes of final images you imagine having. We'll also discuss locations, clothing, and the needs and quirks (everybody has 'em!) of your particular family.

When scheduling your photo session appointment, keep in mind that well-rested = happy + fresh = beautiful photos!

The photo session fee is $250, which covers the creation of the photographs and the processing of proofs. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking and the balance due at the session. Two weeks after your photo session, a preview presentation of select images will be available for you to review in my studio. All deciding parties should be present at the selection meeting - it's then that we'll choose your favorite images and make your final product selections. I work with outstanding printing labs, suppliers and craftsmen through which I am proud to offer wall portraits, canvases, small prints, framing, photo albums and other display options. Your products will be ready for your enjoyment in about three weeks time. For large wall portraits, a picture-hanging professional is available at no additional cost to come to your home to securely hang your new treasure.

Holiday cards, birth announcements, party invitations, and other occasion greeting cards are available in various sizes and finishes. A motion slide show set to music is also an available option.
